FA Youth Cup 2nd Round Proper away to Port Vale FC

The Royals U18s take on Port Vale in one of their biggest (if not the biggest) games to date tonight in the FA Youth Cup - Kick off 19:30.

The tie now has the added incentive for the winner of the 2nd round proper to play Championship side Norwich City at home in the 3rd round Proper. Its a fantastic achievement to be amongst the big names at this stage!

This is an amazing achievement with it being the clubs first appearance at this level. We are now the lowest ranked side in the competition - but the lads have shown they have got what it takes to compete at this level!

We will be tweeting highlights from the game tonight.

The tie is to be played away at Vale Park with the address as follows -

Port Vale Football Club,
Hamil Road,
Burslem,
Stoke-on-Trent,
Staffs,
ST6 1AW

The U18s have done magnificently well to reach the 2nd round proper after the 1st round proper beating Rugby Borough Juniors 6-2, Matlock Town 2 - 1 in the 3rd Qualifying Round, Stratford Town 5 -2 in the 2nd Qualifying Round, and Pegasus Juniors 8 - 0 in the 1st Qualifying Round.

That's an impressive 21 goals scored already!

To qualify for The Youth Cup, teams must play in a Youth League, or equivalent competition, and must be fully integrated within the main structure of the senior club. The players selected must be under 18 at midnight on 31 August in the current season. Players of the calibre of George Best, Paul Gascoigne, David Beckham and Michael Owen have all played in FA Youth Cup-winning sides.

We wish you the best of luck!
