Today we travel to Dunstable in Bedfordshire for an away fixture with AFC Dunstable.
AFC Dunstable are a football club who were founded in 1981. They play at Creasey park and share a ground with Dunstable Town.
The club was first known as Old Dunstablians, which was named after a club for former pupils of Dunstable Grammar School The new club played at Manshead School, which had succeeded the grammar school and initially played in the Dunstable Alliance Football League, before joining the Luton District and South Bedfordshire League in 1983. In 1994 the club moved to Totternhoe, when Dunstable Town Cricket Club opened a new sports facility in the village. In 2004 the club changed their name to AFC Dunstable, although reference to the former name was retained in the club's nickname of the OD's.
The Club have played at Creasey Park in Dunstable since the 2009/10 season a grass pitch which is 100.5 x 64.5 metres. The stadium, which holds 3200, 350 of which are seated is now a stadium which AFC Dunstable groundshare with Dunstable Town. At home AFC Dunstable play in blue shirt, shorts and socks, and away in white shirt, shorts and socks.
The lads have continued the unbeaten run by overcoming Tividale in the week, but today will be about getting three points and pushing for the play offs. Who’d of thought I would have been saying that a few weeks ago.
The team are gelling and even players from the youth team have come in and not been fazed which bodes well for the future of Sutton Town Football Club.
