Saturday we visit our Division 1 opponents Welwyn Garden City FC. Welwyn were founded in 1921 shortly after the first house to be built was completed. Welwyn Garden City FC have a nickname of The Citizens and play at the BP Mitchell Stadium, in Herns Lane, Hertfordshire. The stadium holds 2500 supporters, and The Citizens play on a grass pitch of 109 x 72 yards.
Welwyn City Garden FC play in a home kit of a claret and sky-blue shirt, claret shorts and sky-blue socks. The away kit is a yellow shirt, black shorts and black socks and the goalkeeper wears the same colours.
With Sutton back to winning ways after a great victory over Cambridge last week, it will be important to continue on with a winning streak. Welwyn are also on a small run themselves with victories in their last 2 games and they sit above Sutton in 6th place and just outside the playoffs.
A victory today will push either side a step closer to the playoffs and that goal of promotion.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
