This Saturday (weather permitting!), we welcome Aylesbury United Football Club to the Central Ground Coles Lane. The Club is based in Amy Lane in Chesham, Buckinghamshire and the they play at The Meadow Stadium.
The stadium holds 5000 supporters, their pitch is grass and measures 116 x 73 yards. Aylesbury United are nicknamed The Ducks (after the famous Aylesbury Ducks) and have a home kit of Green and white striped shirts, green shorts and white socks, and have an away kit of amber shirt, shorts and socks. The goalkeeper wears all yellow (shirt, shorts and socks).
Aylesbury United were founded in 1897 when three local sides: Night School FC, The Printing Works and Aylesbury Town decided to merge. In 2006 the Club’s lease expired on their ground and from that time have had to play on a pitch 20 miles outside of Aylesbury. The campaign to 'Bring the Ducks Home' was commenced, and although it has generated lots of publicity, so far, nothing tangible has developed regarding a new home for the club.
Sutton are still on an unbeaten run of eight games, and having beat Aylesbury United 2-1 in the reverse fixture earlier in the season will be confident of getting the points. It must be said however, that Aylesbury won’t lie down easily as they have only lost once in their last six games.
Nesbitt is on fire for Sutton at the moment and he will be looking to add to his goal tally, will he beat the record for the most goals in a season?
Come down to Coles Lane and get behind the lads and push them on to another three points and a successful season.
Collection buckets will be collecting for donations towards new lights for the ground, any change will be gratefully received.
Come on you Royals
