Points shared..

Sutton extended their unbeaten league run to 5 games but were unable to break down a hard working Lichfield City team and had to settle for a share of the points.

Sutton went into the game without regulars Will Jones, Sam Yankson and Kyle Baskeyfield, all injured in last weeks cup defeat.

Lichfield started well and were the better team in the opening 20 minutes, being sharper and showing better movement than the home team. Sutton improved though and got better as the half wore on. Adam Budz was having joy down the left hand side but several promising attacks resulted in no real clear cut chances. Will West came closest to breaking the deadlock when his effort was well saved by the outstretched leg of the Lichfield keeper.

The 2nd half was again very even with Sutton probably shading possession. Christian Obeng had a good opportunity when he raced clear but fired just wide of the post. At the other end Lichfield had a good shout for a penalty turned down. Final score 0-0.

A fair result overall with both teams having moments when they were on top but neither team showed enough quality or invention in the final third to win the game.

Next week we are again at home in the league when Chasetown are the visitors, kick off at 10.30am.
