The visitors took the lead in the very first minute through a fine strike from outside the box which sailed into the top corner. Sutton were level after 15 minutes when Callum Beet got to the bye line and crossed for Sam Yankson to side foot home. Sutton enjoyed the majority of possession, but their play lacked tempo and quality and the half ended 1-1.

The 2nd period saw Sutton dominate possession, but a combination of determined defending, great goal keeping and poor finishing led to a frustrating morning as the visitors held on for a share of the points.

Sutton had enough chances to win the game, but in truth their overall performance fell way short of the standards required and of which they are capable.

An improvement will be required next Saturday when current league champions Kidderminster Harriers visit Coles Lane.
