Sutton 0 Kidderminster Harriers 5

Sutton were well beaten by a more experienced and accomplished Kidderminster outfit in this league fixture.

The visitors dominated the first half, playing some excellent football and Sutton had to work extremely hard and defend well to contain them. To their credit, Sutton did this in the main and despite all of their possession KHFC were restricted to half chances. Ironically, after playing some excellent and intricate approach football, it was a long ball over the top that gave KHFC the lead as Sutton allowed the ball to bounce in their final third and the striker lobbed the advancing Liam Doyle. Sutton were happy and fortunate to go into the break just one goal behind.

The opening 15 minutes of the second half were more promising for Sutton as they started to ask one or two questions themselves of the Kidderminster defence. Unfortunately, at the end of this good spell KHFC increased their lead, leaving Sutton a mountain to climb. Three further goals followed before the final whistle to give the visitors a convincing win.

Despite the scoreline, this was a better performance than last week and the players gave everything in terms of effort and work rate but were up against an opposition who were simply better on the day in all areas.

Sutton face another tough test in 2 weeks time when Rushall Olympic are the visitors in the League Cup.
