This Saturday we welcome Kidlington FC to Central Ground for our home leg of the Evo-Stik League South Division One Central. Kidlington FC are based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire. They were formed in 1909, and play at the Yarnton Road Stadium, in Yarnton Road Kidlington.
The stadium holds 2086 supporters, and they play on a grass pitch which is 102m x 70m. The team play in a home kit of green shirt, shorts and socks, their away kit is orange shirt, shorts and socks, and the goalkeeper plays in yellow shirt, shorts and socks. The home kit determines their nickname of The Greens. The club was founded in 1909 and played local village football up to the 2nd world war.
Last time we met Kidlington, it was at the Yarnton Road Stadium in October 2018 and we beat them 0:4. Since then Kidlington have picked up the pace a little, winning a few games and keeping themselves in with a chance during the match.
The days of 11-0 drubbings are long gone which is a credit to how the team has grown during the season.
Sutton are now on an unbeaten run of 5 games after the draw on Tuesday night, a game which Sutton will feel were 2 points dropped after a gutsy performance by Welwyn Garden City. Having said all this Kidlington have lost their last six games and lie at the foot of the league, Sutton will be expecting to win this and after two draws there is no better opportunity.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS!
