Tonight we are playing Carlton at Coles Lane in our second league game this season.
When we played Carlton last season, the Royals got a 1-1 draw, and will hope go one better this time to get their season up and running. This will give the lads a really welcome boost, especially in light of the difficulties the team have had off the pitch so far.
Carlton Town are based in Nottingham. They were formed in 1904, and are nicknamed The Millers. They play at the Bill Stokeld Stadium which was named after their former Chairman. The pitch was moved in 2006 when a road was built over the original pitch. Today they will be playing in their away colours of black and white.
More recently, Carlton became Division One champions in the Northern Counties East League in 2005-06 and Central Midlands League champions in 2002-03. They also won the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup in 2016-17.
Sutton have had a few departures in recent weeks along with new faces coming in, so the lads will need our backing as they push for all three points.
We need you to come on down to Coles Lane and help support Toothy’s men.
The Club have had to make numerous changes to keep everyone safe during the current pandemic, so please read the current guidance on the Sutton Town website for all the latest information.
Come on you Royals.
