Well, it’s another league game this Saturday against Ilkeston Town, and after a draw last time out, the Royals will be looking to get back to winning ways.
Old foes Ilkeston are on fire at present and sit at the very top of the league on 51 points. They have only lost three league games in 22 which is a fine record. They have only succumbed to defeats by Chasetown and a double defeat by Sporting Khalsa this season, and this shows why they are top of the table.
Ilkeston are based in Derbyshire and were founded in 2017. They play at the New Manor ground which holds 3029 people. Ilkeston FC, as the club used to be known, folded, and so Ilkeston Town was formed to replace the preceding club. The Robins as they are known, play in red and white, and are currently manged by former Aston Villa player Martin Carruthers.
The last time Sutton played Ilkeston Town they ended up the losing side, finishing off on the end of a 2-1 loss. Sutton played well on the day and were in front for a while, but the pressure told in the end and they conceded a couple of goals in a very difficult second half.
Sutton currently sit in 16th spot with 19 points from 22 games, and are on the start of a little run at present with 4 points out of the last two games. They are under no illusions though, that this will be one of the toughest games The Royals will be facing this season.
The lads need our support more than ever, and just as we did when we were away to Coleshill, the fans backing can be a game changer.
We hope as many of you can join us to cheer the lads on to three points.
Come on you Royals.
