It was a disappointing game last Saturday, and hopefully the players are back to their best this Saturday in another regular Saturday Cup game, or so it feels!
It’s the F.A Trophy against our old foes Hednesford Town F.C.
Hednesford are playing well at the moment in the Southern Premier Central League, and are currently sitting in second place just behind Tamworth having won 8 of the 13 games they have played.
Boston did knock them out of the FA Cup, a game we could have been in had we had better luck against Boston.
Hednesford Town are a team based in Staffordshire and play at Keys Park, they were founded in 1880 and are nicknamed The Pitmen for obvious reasons.
They play in white and black at home, but you may well see them in their away strip today which is grey.
The Club won this trophy back in 2003/04 so have good pedigree in this competition.
The last time Sutton played Hednesford was in the 2017/18 season where we won 4-1 at home, we can only dream of a similar result this Saturday.
It will be a tough game today make no mistake, but the Royals have proven they can cause an upset or two and Hednesford won’t be taking this one for granted.
Please come down to Coles Lane this Saturday, and enjoy what promises to be an enthralling encounter.
The lads need your support and will want to put the nightmare of last Saturday well and truly behind them.
Don’t forget to grab yourself a scarf which are on special offer at £5 each while stocks last. Make your way over to the hut next to the stand where you can pick up the latest badges along with other merchandise.
Thank you for your continued support.
A special thank you to Richard Aitken who supplies all the football statistics for the club. Our very own statto!
