Making their League debut in the West Midlands Regional Womens League, the Ladies played a hard working Florence side from Stoke on Trent.
It was mainly one way traffic with the ladies having most of the possession but failing to break down a solid Florence defence, with chance after chance, particularly at set plays.
Sutton were rarely troubled and goals from Chey (2), Tiara (2) and Liz sealed what was a deserved victory to get off the mark and secure three valuable points.
Manager Andy Burman said “ We need to be more creative when teams come and park the bus and we made heavy weather of what should have been a wider margin. That said we stuck to our principles and had a great deal of possession, Florence came with a game play and executed it well. The Ladies got over the line and both skill and fitness told in the end”.
