The Ladies bowed out of the Birmingham County Cup with their heads held high after a terrific display at Keys Park!
An unfortunate own-goal after 10 minutes gave Wolves the lead, but a tremendous hard-working and disciplined display ensured it stayed 1-0 until 3 minutes prior to half-time when a corner was forced home
HT - 2-0
The same pattern of attack against defence continued in the second-half with Wolves making it 3-0 after 62 minutes, and adding a further 2 goals in the final 15 minutes
Sutton's best chance came through Hayley Chatwin who forced the Wolves goalkeeper into an impressive acrobatic save to preserve the clean-sheet
FT - 5-0
Player-of-the-match went to Gemma who made some fine saves and whose good handling and clever distribution helped relieve the pressure on several occasions
Secretary James Green said:
'Firstly congratulations to Wolves and good luck to them in the next round. Regardless of the scoreline, everyone involved with our club should feel tremendous pride today! That would have been a great performance under any circumstances, but when you consider the girls have not played for 2 months it just emphasises how impressive it was! They were simply awesome!'
