Shoot-out success sees Ladies reach Semi-Finals

This was a typical hard-fought cup tie between two organised and determined sides

Stockingford had the better of the first-half while Sutton got stronger as the game went on and had the opportunity to take the lead on a number of occasions through Niamh Deasy, Imogen Fisher and Hayley Chatwin

The second-half saw opportunities for both sides as a stubborn Stockingford refused to give an inch to an increasingly dominant Sutton

Honours even after ninety minutes…onto penalties!

Ruth Graham strode up and placed the first one to the keepers left, then Hannah Tromans in the Sutton goal made a fantastic save to her left

Up stepped Hayley Chatwin and neatly placed it into the net, Stockingford then scored their second penalty

Niamh Deasy slotted the ball in to the keepers right, Tromans then tipped the ball over the bar

This left Sarah Lampitt to convert the winning penalty which she did

Player-of-the-Match was Sarah Lampitt for her outstanding contribution in the game and scoring the winning penalty

Manager Andy Burman said "We did enough to get through in ninety minutes but our penalty-takers were spot on and on balance we deserved the win. Stockingford as always, were very worthy opponents"
