On a superb new 3G facility at Harrison Park the crowd were treated to a goal-fest with the home side taking a two-goal lead on 20 minutes before Imogen Fisher slotted home for the visitors
Leek scored a third goal on 54 minutes and looked to be heading for a victory but 4 minutes later Fisher grabbed her second goal to bring it back to 3-2
The visitors had two further opportunities to score with breaks down the right, splitting the Leek defence
In the 88th minute Niamh Deasy was put through on goal and slotted home the equaliser which was no more than Sutton deserved
So to penalties...
Lottie McElroy in the Sutton goal dived to her left to make a magnificent save from Leek's first spot-kick
All other spot-kicks were scored by both teams with Imogen Fisher firing home the 5th and winning kick for the Royals
So through to face Sheffield FC away in the First Round proper
Player- of- the-Match was Royals keeper Lottie McElroy for making a number of good saves and that crucial penalty save which took the Royals through to the next round
Manager Andy Burman said "The FA Cup is a great competition and this was a very competitive game. We pulled ourselves back from 3-1 down to get the penalty shoot out and get through by scoring all five plus a great save by Lottie. This side is built on character, determination and effort. The players deserved this win"
