Sutton were eliminated from the Birmingham County Cup by West Bromwich Albion for the third successive tournament
In what was always going to be a difficult tie, the Royals faced a team in the top-half, two divisions above but still went into half-time just one goal down and unlucky not to have scored
Albion scored again in the 58th minute following poor marking in the Sutton defence
On 62 minutes Imogen Fisher received the ball back from a throw-in and fired the ball into the box and the bounce deceived the WBA keeper making it 1-2
This brought a surge in play from Sutton but this was quickly ended with two quick goals for Albion from corners where the Royals failed to close down players and block shots
We wish Albion all the best in the next round
A disappointing end to the game but the Royals worked hard and showed character and determination
Back to the bread and butter of League action next week with a visit to City of Stoke
