In what was a very competitive and tight game both teams put on a great display for the big crowd at Coles Lane

Lichfield took the lead on 28 minutes following some good build-up play and minutes later Niamh Deasy put the Royals back on terms with a great run and cross-shot

The second-half saw both sides battling for possession and control of the game and at the end of 90 minutes it was still difficult to separate the teams, so onto penalties

Ruth Graham fired in the first, Niamh Deasy the second and debut girl Ella Spears the third

You are lucky if your keeper saves one penalty, two if you are exceptionally fortunate but THREE saves out of THREE saw Player-of-the-Match, LOTTIE MCELROY win the game for the Royals as they moved into the League Cup Semi-Final
