Always a tightly contested fixture and it proved to be the case yet again with both sides working hard in midfield and neither giving an inch!

With the game being played at both ends of the pitch, the game was constantly stretched and both defences were in action as the game swung from end to end with perhaps the Royals shading opportunities

The deadlock was broken in the 39th minute when a quality through-ball from Chloe Finn to Carly Aldred wide on the right, was finished in typical Carly style with a well-placed low shot to the keepers right-hand corner

The second-half followed a similar pattern with missed opportunities for both sides and some good saves from both keepers, particularly at set-plays

Player-of-the-Match was midfielder Chloe Finn who never stopped running, made some key interceptions and assisted with the all-important winner for Carly Aldred

It was also a solid debut for new striker Chloe Handy
