Big win sees Royals go top

Sutton were able to climb top of the League with victory over struggling Redditch

A free-kick in the second-minute from captain Ruth Graham almost gave Sutton the perfect start, however it proved just too high to find the top-corner

5 minutes later Sutton goalkeeper Lottie McElroy was off her line sharply to clear a long-ball that the Redditch attacker had gambled on reaching

A minute later Freya Smith tried her luck from distance after winning the ball back in the Redditch-half, however the shot was off target

The resulting goal-kick came straight back and Aimee Taylor had a shot blocked by a defender

Redditch had their first shot after 10 minutes from the edge of the penalty-area, however McElroy was able to catch comfortably

Sutton almost took the lead in the 13th minute, when first Chloe Handy and then Taylor both had chances from close-range within seconds of each other

Chloe Finn had a long-range effort that was weld held by the Redditch goalkeeper after 22 minutes

2 minutes later Sutton took the lead, when a corner was not fully cleared and good linkup play saw the ball played across the box for Ally Forbes to fire into the roof of the net

Handy had a shot that just cleared the crossbar 10 minutes prior to half-time

After 40 minutes a free-kick on the edge of the area provided a chance for Redditch, however the resulting effort on goal was off target

Another long-range effort from Finn was off-target a minute before the break

Becky Gill-Parsons had the ball in the net in stoppage-time, however she was adjudged to have been offside

HT - 1-0

A few minutes into the second-half saw strong claims for a penalty as Smith went down in the Redditch penalty-area, however the referee signalled no penalty

However less than 60 seconds later it was 2-0 as Taylor lifted a long-range effort over the goalkeeper

A Redditch player went down injured on 53 minutes resulting in a lengthy stoppage that saw the player carried off on a stretcher

Charlotte Worth volleyed in a Graham free-kick to make it 3-0 to Sutton 20 minutes into the second-half

Redditch very nearly scored 2 minutes later, when a loose-ball dropped to the Redditch attacker whose effort was not far wide of the post

After 70 minutes Worth had a long-range effort pushed round the post by the goalkeeper

A minute later Graham tried her luck from distance, but the keeper was equal to the shot

Another long-range effort from Forbes was tipped round the post to force another corner 2 minutes later

Redditch almost found the net with just under 10 minutes to play, however a miss-hit shot and a tame effort on the rebound ensured Sutton held onto their clean-sheet

Redditch had the ball in the net a few minutes later, however this was ruled out for offside

Natasha Rothery struck a powerful effort from some way outside the penalty-area that flew into the top-corner to make it 4-0 with a minute of normal-time to play

Smith had an attempt from the edge of the penalty-area in stoppage-time that flew past the far-post

A long-range free-kick for Redditch was struck wide of the post with the final action of the game

FT - 4-0

Player-of-the-Match was Charlotte Worth, who capped a solid defensive display with her first goal for the club
