Sutton travelled to Shrewsbury Town looking to be the first side to beat them in a League fixture for over 2 years
As would be expected from a side unbeaten in such a long time, Shrewsbury started strongly and had much the better of the opening 30 minutes
Shrewsbury took the lead after 15 minutes, when a cross was diverted in to the Sutton net by what looked like the striker's knee whilst attempting a volley
Sutton began connecting passes much better towards the end of the half and started to come into the game more
New signing Aimee Taylor was unlucky not to equalise when, after going round the goalkeeper, she was unable to turn the ball into the Shrewsbury net whilst off balance

Sutton started the second-half much stronger with the lion's share of both possession and territory
Eventually the pressure paid off on 63 minutes, when a through-ball found Chloe Handy whose early shot took the keeper by surprise and drew Sutton level
Just 4 minutes later a cross found Carly Aldred at the far-post, who produced a calm finish under pressure to put the Royals 2-1 up
Shrewsbury's goalkeeper kept the hosts in the game with a penalty save as Sutton looked to kill the game off
Injuries led to lengthy stoppages as players received the necessary medical attention
This ensured stoppage-time after 90 minutes was considerable, and Sutton had to dig deep as Shrewsbury made one last push to draw level
In the end the Royals stood firm to come out on top and make it 5 League victories in a row
