Strong comeback earns Royals a point

With only 10 players available for this league game, Sutton defied the odds to come back from two goals down and share the points

Playing up hill in the 1st-half, The Royals defence held strong, restricting Rubery to long range strikes. Sutton had several chances of their own but failed to capitalise

Rubery eventually went ahead on 43 minutes when a long range shot found its way through a crowded box

Sutton were immediately pegged back again after half-time when Rubery doubled their lead on 47 minutes

With nothing to lose Sutton pushed players forward and started to put some pressure on the Rubery defence down the slope

The reward came on the hour when Williams turned in the box to fire home

Sutton were now on top and their superior fitness began to tell

Great work from Nolan cutting in from the right culminated with a fierce strike into the roof of the net for the equaliser on 85 minutes

The last 5 minutes were played out with no further scores

A draw was a fair result and both teams contributed to an entertaining game in heavy conditions

Player-of-the-match was Amy Thompson, organising the back line throughout with a commanding display
