Strong comeback earns Royals a point

Sutton earned a valuable point to remain top of the table after a below par performance at Kewford

Kewford started brightly moving the ball well and stretching the Sutton back four but chances were limited as The Royals held firm

Sutton had two chances to take the lead, one coming back off the cross bar, before some loose passing allowed Kewford to pounce and grab the lead

A further lapse in concentration minutes later and Kewford were 2-0 up going into the break leaving Sutton with an uphill challenge to get back in the game

Sutton improved after the break slowly gaining more possession and territory

They were rewarded when Whitehouse pushed higher up the pitch and, after a fine run down the left, crossed for Alisha George to score her first goal for The Royals

Sutton pushed on with nothing to lose and Hamid looped a shot over the keeper for the equaliser

A frantic last 5 minutes saw a great save from Cresswell and some great last ditch tackles to preserve a hard earned point for Sutton

Player-of-the-match was Georgia Whitehouse whose energy an leadership were excellent as always
