The Royals returned to action after the Christmas break with a comfortable victory over Balls to Cancer

In a game affected by a strong wind, Sutton controlled all aspects of the game with the Sutton keeper Cresswell a spectator for 90 minutes

In the first-half Sutton worked hard to break down a packed defence and, after several missed chances, Whitehouse broke through from the left to slot home

The rest of the half followed a similar pattern but with no further scores

The wind strengthened after the break and Sutton worked hard to get the ball on the floor, with Williams instrumental in a midfield role opening up the game with a range of defence-splitting passes

Williams herself extended the lead with a fearsome strike from close range

Osman smashed home the 3rd, also from close range, before Williams finished off the scoring after beating the offside trap and calmly slotting past the keeper

There were stand-out performances by Bates in defence and Williams in a midfield role

Player-of-the-Match was Eva Lockley whose work-rate down the right-hand side was outstanding
