Sutton slipped to a heavy defeat against Shifnal despite a spirited second-half display
It took just 12 minutes for the opening goal to arrive as Sutton struggled to retain possession and were punished
The half continued to follow the same pattern and further goals saw Shifnal take an emphatic 7-0 lead into the break
HT - 0-7
A much-improved second-half display saw the Royals stem the tide of Shifnal goals and start to come into the game themselves
Then on 65 minutes their hard-work was rewarded when an over-hit back-pass from a Shifnal player bypassed the goalkeeper and rolled into the net
2 further Shifnal goals late on made the final score 9-1, however the girls continued to give their all and were cheered off the pitch by a very supportive crowd
FT - 1-9
A tough afternoon for the Royals but a second-half full of positives to take forward into 2020
All players deserve tremendous credit for their second-half display, especially those who carried on despite picking up knocks
Player-of-the-Match went to Jodie Barber who worked tirelessly in multiple positions and whose endless positivity helped keep the heads up of those around her
