Positive display despite defeat

Sutton produced a spirited performance against an experienced Wyrley side

The score wasn’t a fair reflection as Sutton wasted a host of chances while the home side were more clinical in front of goal

Sutton started brightly and had the first chance of the match when Jackson-Coley got free down the right and put in a good cross but there was nobody on the end to finish

In Wyrley's first real chance a ball between the defensive-line allowed a shot to squeeze under Jones in goal

The remainder of the first-half was fairly even with chances at  both ends, however Wyrley added two more before the break to lead 3-0

The Royals regrouped at half-time and continued to battle well and enjoy plenty of possession and chances

Wyrley capitalised again with two more goals in the late stages of the game

Sutton can draw many positives from this performance, with a creditable debut to 16-year-old keeper Neve Jones and a solid performances from the back-four

Chloe Madden was reliable at right-back, while new midfield pairing Lauren Swift and Lauren Creswell shared the Player-of-the-Match
