In what was undoubtedly Sutton's best performance of the season, they were once again undone by both their inability to convert goal-scoring opportunities and mistakes at key moments in the game
Both teams started brightly with the action swinging from end to end
Sutton had more of the territory and possession with Telford hitting Sutton on the break with a quick front-line
After 30 minutes the score was goalless and the gap between the teams in the table was difficult to notice
A through-ball by Telford was well converted and Sutton were then hit with 2 quickfire goals – one an unstoppable strike from a free-kick and one from a corner where the defence switched off
Sutton regrouped at half-time and again were a worthy match for second-placed Telford – with only another unstoppable strike from distance being the difference between the teams
Excellent performances from Amber Barnard at left-back and also Jodie Barber in Centre-Midfield
Player-of-the-Match was Kayani Jackson-Coley, who was a constant threat down the left-hand side
The Royals can take many positives from this performance and with the same amount of effort and desire a result will come soon
