Rushall Olympic are a local football club based in Rushall, a former mining village and part of the northern suburbs of Walsall. The team now plays in the Southern League Premier Division Central.
They were play-off winners of the Northern Premier League Division One South in 2010/11, and were recent winners of the Staffordshire Senior Cup in 2015/16 and the Walsall Senior Cup in 2011/12. Rushall Olympic were founded in 1893 and are nicknamed ‘the Pics’. They play at Dales Lane ground in Rushall, a stadium which holds 1500 supporters.
Their first kit is an amber and black top, black shorts and black socks; their second kit is an Aquamarine and dark blue shirt, dark blue shorts and socks.
The Pics have had a slow start to the season, winning only one of their first opening games so they will be gunning for a great result and to get their cup campaign up and running in todays match against Sutton.
The last time Sutton met the Pics was last season in the league losing 5-1 away and 3-4 at home. Sutton will want to improve on those results today, and with the teams ever improving performances I see no reason why they can’t progress in this prestigious tournament.
We welcome Rushall Olympic to Coles Lane, and also former players Tyler Little, Brian Smikle, Justin Richards and Gaz Singh; let’s hope those names don’t come back to haunt us!
A great local derby fixture, and here’s to a great game and the right result.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
