Sutton, unbeaten in their last two league games, take on Rushden and Diamonds at Coles Lane in the hope of making it three. Rushden, who are bottom of the league and have struggled since the start of the season, pulled of an amazing win against Coleshill Town last Saturday. They won 2-1, so they will have confidence on their side going into this game.

Rushden and Diamonds are a club based in Irthlingborough in the county of Northamptonshire. They play at Nene Park and are nicknamed The Diamonds. They play in yellow shorts and shirts away from home.

The club was formed in 1992 in a merger of Rushden Town and Irthlingborough Diamonds. They reached the lofty heights of division 2 where they struggled for a few seasons, before being relegated back to the conference.

Financial problems meant they were expelled from the conference in 2011, and a winding up petition was submitted. The club entered into administration in July 2011, but the fans managed to save the club by creating a new fan-owned club called AFC Rushden and Diamonds. They fielded their first side in 2012.

They were conference champions in 2001 and division 3 champions in 02/03.

Sutton are in 15th spot on 10 points after picking 4 points out of the last 2 games, but remain only 4 points above the drop zone.

Sutton have poor home form this season and will be keen to rectify this as soon as possible. With the defence improving already, it will be in front of goal that The Royals need to do better, as they have not scored in 60% of their games this season.

Diamonds will be hoping the bottom spot position is only a blip in their opening quarter of the season, and after a win last time out why wouldn’t they? Sutton will need to have a good mindset going into the game, as last weeks results go to show there are no easy games in this league, and as previous results have shown, the new boys to this league are no pushovers.
