This Saturday, The Royals take on Gresley Rovers who are fighting a relegation battle. This game comes on the back of a nine-game unbeaten stretch.
Gresley Rovers Football Club are an English Club from Church Gresley in South Derbyshire and are a member of the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands. They play at the Moat ground and are nicknamed The Moatmen. They were originally formed in 1882 and have a stadium capacity of 2,400. Their home colours are red and white and play in blue and white away from home.
Gresley’s recent honours include becoming the Southern League Premier Champions in 96/97, FA Vase runners up in 90/91 and Millennium Cup Champions in 99/00.
Gresley are currently in 19th position in the league with 10 points. This is after having a difficult start to this campaign, with only two wins so far this season.
Sutton are in 10th spot after 16 games with 24 points and seven wins so far this season.
Last time these two sides met was back in February last season, where Sutton got a 1-0 win.
Sutton are just seven points off the play-offs, and a win against Gresley would take Sutton well into the top half of the table.
On paper and looking at form, Sutton will see this as an opportunity to get some more points on the board. But, as with previous encounters against Gresley, they certainly won’t be giving up without a fight.
Good luck to the lads and hope to see you at Coles Lane for what promises to be a very entertaining and crucial game.
