It’s been a fantastic run of 10 games which culminated in a goal fest last weekend. Now it’s another difficult trip away to Quorn this weekend.
Quorn are based in Leicestershire, and like Sutton play their football on a 3G pitch. They play at the Farley Way Stadium and are nicknamed The Reds, and are also known as “The Methodists”, which is a nod to their historical name.
They were formed in 1924 and were promoted to the Northen Premier League by winning the play-offs in The United Counties League.
Quorn are 11th in the table on 24 points after 15 games, where as Sutton are in 7th on 27 points. Despite the gap, Quorn have played two games less than Sutton, so very similar in what they have achieved in the league so far.
Stats show Sutton have scored just one more goal and both have conceded 22 goals.
The last time Sutton played them they lost 1-0, in fact the last 4 times they have met they have never beaten Quorn, so it will be a big scalp for Sutton to finally get a victory.
Everyone at the club is feeling positive and why not? The results and performances have been right up there, and if they continue in this vein then they should definitely consider themselves as play-off candidates.
Hope to see as many of you as can make it to Leicestershire to cheer the boys on.
