Sutton produced another good performance last Saturday and came away from Quorn with a point, taking the unbeaten record to 11 games.
This Saturday, The Royals are away again to locals Walsall Wood.
Walsall Wood are based in Walsall Wood near Walsall, they play their home games at Oak Park and are nicknamed the Wood.
They were founded in 1915 and play in red and white. Last season they won the Midland Football League Premier Division and as a result moved into Northern Premier League.
They also won the Midland League Cup in 2017/18.
Walsall Wood are in 12th position with 23 points after 15 games, whereas Sutton sit just below the play-offs in 7th with 28 points after 18 games.
Walsall Woods’ position in the table is mainly due to so many cancelations and postponements of matches. If they win those games in hand, play-offs are a real possibility for them.
We last played Walsall Wood earlier in the season where we were beaten 4-1 on the day. But this is a very different side, one with confidence and rejuvenation after Stuart’s arrival. Walsall Wood however, should not be underestimated as many of the new boys have shown us this season.
Let’s hope for a great game to get everyone in the Christmas spirit.
