After a wonderful win against neighbours Boldmere last week, its back to Coles Lane with the hope of extending our back-to-back wins against Coleshill Town.
Coleshill Town Football Club are from Coleshill in Warwickshire, and were founded in 1894 although their first ever recorded game was in November 1885 against Acocks Green. They were awarded a certificate by the FA in 1994 for recognition of 100 years in the Football Association although matches prior to this were either friendly or challenge matches.
Coleshill Town FC play at the Pack Meadow Stadium in Coleshill, a stadium which holds 2070 supporters. Coleshill have had a few nicknames in the past but the most recent is ‘The Colemen’ or ‘The Colts'. Their home kit is a white and blue shirt, blue shorts and blue socks, and their away kit is all red, red shirt, shorts and socks.
The last time we played Coleshill Town FC was earlier this season in the league, and it’s where we won 2-0 away. Coleshill have started the season reasonably well and sit 13th in the league on 26 points after winning 4-2 last time out against Bedworth. Coleshill on the road have been in terrible form, only winning once way back in August against Corby.
Sutton are 3 points off the play off places and sit in 7th spot on 34 points. A win will get them closer to the dream of the play offs.
Sutton are statistically only bettered form wise at present by Spalding, who are second. The Royals should have every belief they can get the right result on Monday to start the New Year on a positive note.
Let’s hope for a great day against our local rivals, one of the many we have in this league.
