Sutton have had a few bad games, culminating in the loss to bottom of the league last weekend! No win in four games will have Cameron Stuart and co scratching their heads, and with the loss of The Royals leading goal scorer, it will be an extra headache.
Lye Town are based in Stourbridge and were formed in 1930. They are nicknamed The Flyers and play at the Sports Ground. Lye play in blue and white at home and have been promoted to this league by winning the play-offs in the Midland Premier Division.
We last played Lye at home in 2019 in the Walsall Senior Cup in the semi final when we won on penalties after a 1-1 draw, earlier in the season we lost 2-0 away.
Lye Town are currently in 6th place with 41 points, having beaten Coleshill, and getting a good draw against Anstey Nomads in the last two times out.
Sutton are in 10th position now, and are sitting in midtable. A loss on Saturday could push them right back in to the bottom half of the table.
Sutton will need to take their chances on Saturday, with finishing being a problem in recent weeks.
It promises to be a close affair, with Lye probably favourites due to having had a better season so far, and the fact that they are in the race for play-offs.
Hope to see you back the Royals this Saturday.
