This Saturday Sutton travel to Loughborough Dynamo, in the hope of rediscovering some form, and banishing the poor set of results in recent weeks. Last weekend was a washout which has given the lads some rest time, and the manager chance to figure out what has changed within the squad to see such a downturn in form.
Loughborough lie in 4th position after 26 games on 53 points, whereas Sutton sit just below the top half of the table in 11th place, and with 36 points after the same number of games.
Sutton’s main problem in recent months has been scoring goals, netting just two in their last 4 games in the league. Worrying! Especially as the chasing pack are getting close, and to finish below the top 10 would be a travesty after the start they had under Cameron Stewart’s reign.
Loughborough Dynamo are based in Leicestershire and play at the Nanpantan Sports Ground. They are nicknamed the Moes and were founded in 1955.
The club was established by pupils from Loughborough Grammar school who were rebelling against the school’s rugby only policy and secretly formed a football team.
The Moes took their name from Dynamo Moscow who had recently visited England to play Wolverhampton Wanderers. They play in a gold and black home strip (taken from Wolverhampton Wanderers), and a green and white away strip
Last time we met Loughborough Dynamo was back in September. It was Cameron Stewarts first game in charge, and we lost 2-0 at Coles Lane before going on that impressive run. Maybe it’s a good omen in that this game, whatever the result, might start something good again.
Loughborough are playing well, having beat Walsall Wood, Rugby Town, and Gresley in their last 3 games. They have scored 9 goals in those games, which means the Sutton defence will need to be on their A game to keep them at bay.
Sutton will be looking to their forward players shooting on sight this Saturday, as goals are desperately needed to get the points on the board and to entertain the crowds.
Hope as many of you can come as possible, as we need to continue in a positive manor and gain momentum in the league.
Come on you Royals!
