We had planned to replace the surface next summer (in 12 months time) and had spent several thousands of pounds prior to this test with an application of rubber crumb top up and deep brushing in an effort to ensure it passed it's test but this was unsuccessful.

We have taken advice and it is unlikely that further treatment would enable the pitch to pass the test - it would be good money after bad and more importantly shorten further the time we have available to replace the pitch in time for next season.

We have therefore appointed Surfacing Standards Ltd ( SSL ) to source a contractor and carpet to meet the tight time frame. Several contractors have confirmed that both the carpet lead time and the time to remove the old surface and lay the new one can be completed in good time for next season.

It is intended that all activity will temporarily cease on the pitch in early June by which time the new carpet will be available to be laid. Removal of the old carpet and relaying the new, will take place during June with a projected completion date of end June.

We will then arrange FIFA testing of the new surface and have the newest 3G pitch in Sutton Coldfield again!
