Sutton Ladies progressed through to the third round of the County Cup with a hard fought victory against a resilient Coventry side
Sutton were slow to get into gear and struggled to adapt to the pitch and conditions
But on 26 minutes Laura Fryer fired in to give Sutton a one nil lead at the break
The second-half started with Coventry getting the equaliser with a shot following a break down the right
On 50 minutes Rachel Akinyemi scored with a header following a corner and on 62 minutes Coventry scored again when Sutton failed to close down on the edge of the box
The game was then closed out with further goals from Cheyanne Jarvis, Laura Fryer and a penalty from Ruth Graham
Player-of-the-match was Elisha Davis who was solid at the back and covered well
Manager Andy Burman said "We never really got going today. Conceded two sloppy goals by not doing the basics, although credit to Coventry for working hard and not giving up. Eventually our finishing paid off"
