A preview into Tuesday’s preseason fixture against Wolverhampton Casuals, from Jack Blenkiron.

The Royals returned to winning ways on Saturday, following a 3-0 storming of Tividale at The Beeches, after a brace from Dom Dell, and a thumping header from James Beresford.

The Royals will play their second of three consecutive away preseason fixtures, with Newtown AFC the third, on Saturday 3rd August.

An insight on The Cassies…

Wolverhampton Causals F.C, similarly to our recent opponents Tividale, ply their trade in the West Midlands Regional League Premier Division, finishing 3rd in the table under the management of Dean Gill. The Cassies won 25 of their 38 games, only losing six times, accumulating 82 points throughout the season, finishing on a superior goal difference to Malvern Town. The last silverware the club won was last seasons league cup. In 2000/01 they also won the Walsall Senior Cup.

An overview of preseason so far…

The build-up to the campaign has been somewhat promising, following victories against Tividale, Rugby Town, Cheltenham U18s and Paget, further creating hope of a successful season under Neil Tooth. The Royals are yet to play Newtown AFC, and Evesham, our final game at the Central Ground prior to the beginning of the season, the following Saturday on the 17th.
