Sutton meet AFC Wulfrunians this Tuesday at Coles Lane in the Walsall Senior Cup, after last seasons cup final in this very competition Sutton will be looking to go one better and bring the trophy home. On current form Sutton could do just that, well, have an equally good run at least.
Sutton, although giving certain players a rest because of injury and trying some youth players, will still be keen to do well in this competition.
Wulfrunians currently play in the Total Motion Midland League Premier Division and only came into existence officially in 2005 but this team is an offshoot of Old Wulfrunians FC who were formed in 1922.
Currently the Wulfrunians are placed in mid table in 11th place having won 6 and lost 10 games this season, interestingly, no draws so maybe we will have a result after 90 minutes one way or the other.
AFC Wulfrunians are based in Castlecroft in Wolverhampton, they play at the Castlecroft Stadium and are nicknamed The Wulfs. They play in red and black at home and blue away.
Recently they have won the Premier division in 2012-13, the JW Hunt cup 2010-11, the Birmingham FA Vase 2006-07 and the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit cup in 2007-08. They are a club on the up with some great success in recent years.
Sutton have lost at home to Tividale this season in the Birmingham Senior Cup who are also in the same league as AFC Wulfrunians, so Sutton will need to be aware of this potential banana skin. With having some great cup runs already this season the lads will surely be up to gain more success in this competition.
Please come down to Coles Lane on Tuesday night. Your support is vital.
