After last weekend’s demolition of high flyers Stamford, the lads return home to take on the might of Corby Town. They have played really well so far this season, and there have been some interesting battles over the years and this will be no different.
Corby have won 5 games in 13 in the league and are on 21 points, but Sutton have also won 5 but in 11 games which has put them mid table on 15 points.
It shows just how close this league is, and a cople of wins for any side in the top half could put them in the play off places.
This team, based in Corby, Northamptonshire were formed in 1948. They are nicknamed The Steelmen and play at Steel Park.
Corby were Premier Division Champions in 2008-9 and 2014-15. They previously won back-to-back league titles in the United Counties League 1950-51 and 1951-52 before joining the Midlands League.
The last time these two sides met was earlier in the year with a 2-2 draw, Sutton will be looking to go one better with a win this time round.
We need your support to push for that all important playoff place, so come on down to Coles Lane and help fire the team up the table. There is always a great atmosphere at all Sutton’s matches as we are entertained through all of the games by the Ultras, our resident band.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
