This Bank Holiday fixture, and in the first game of the new year, we travel to local rivals Coleshill Town in this Northern Premier League match.
Coleshill Town are from Coleshill in Warwickshire and were founded in 1894, although their first ever recorded game was in November 1885 against Acocks Green. They were awarded a certificate by the FA in 1994 for recognition of 100 years in the Football Association, although matches prior to this were either friendly or challenge matches.
Coleshill Town FC play at the Pack Meadow Stadium, a stadium which holds 2070 supporters. Coleshill have had a few nicknames in the past, but most recently it’s ‘The Colemen’ or ‘The Colts'. Their home kit is a white and blue shirt, blue shorts and blue socks, and their away kit is all red, red shirt, shorts and socks.
Coleshill have made a great start to the campaign, winning 9 of their opening 20 league games, however on Saturday they did lose to Bedworth. They now sit 9th in the league, just 3 places above The Royals who are 12th.
Sutton extended their unbeaten run to two games on Saturday, and will be keen to put Coleshill to the sword and make it a fantastic start to the new year.
Earlier in the season Coleshill came to Coles Lane and took all three points beating the Royals 3-0.
Sutton will be hoping for a better result at this time round, but with Coleshill Town, the Royal’s know this fixture will always be tough.
