It’s been the best week of the season for The Royals having three wins in a row and two away wins also, scoring six and only conceding 1.
It would have been form like that before Christmas that would have put us in contention for the play-offs, but still we are free from relegation worries for now and mid table which is something to build upon.
We travel again for the third game in a row to local rivals Sporting Khalsa who have had a fantastic season so far and are in the play-offs currently.
Sporting Khalsa are situated in the heart of the Black Country, in Willenhall, a suburb of Walsall.
They were formed in 1991 by the local Sikh Community, and they are the first British Asian club to own their own ground. The ground was purchased from Willenhall Town in 2010 after moving from Abbey Park, the former home of Bloxwich Town.
They are nicknamed the Lions, and currently play at Noose Lane in the Aspray Arena, and they play in a yellow and blue strip.
Sutton are in 12th place with 36 points after 28 games, with 11 wins to their name so far this season. Sporting Khalsa are doing much better with 14 wins, and sit in 5th place on 48 points after the same number of games played.
Khalsa have hit a bad patch of late which may jeopardise their run in to the play-offs as they have only won once in their last eight games. This may be the right time for the Royals to be facing them or they could be on the end of a fightback to the finish line, time will tell.
Sutton have played Sporting Khalsa twice this season, losing 3-2 at Coles Lane, but winning away 3-1 in the cup. Both sides have changed with new personnel for both teams, especially Sutton.
Talking of new personnel, we have two new signings this week. We welcome back our old player Aaron Forde and new boy Mikey Taylor who we hope will have a successful and enjoyable time with us at Coles Lane.
Hope to see you there to push The Royals to three points.
