It was a bit of a hammer blow last Saturday after Sutton’s recent positive run. But against a top 5 side away from home, it was probably an understandable result, although Sutton pushed Sporting Khalsa all the way.

This Saturday we take on Dereham Town at home, and we’re looking to get back to winning ways.

It will be the first time in our history that these two clubs will meet at Coles Lane in the league. You will remember us meeting before in the F.A Trophy, where Sutton were knocked out in the last minute 3-2.

Dereham are nicknamed The Magpies and ply their trade at Aldiss Park in Norfolk. They were formed in 1884 and play, not surprisingly, in black and white stripes, their away strip comprises of green shirts and white shorts.
Recent success for Dereham came in the 18/19 season when they won the Norfolk Senior Cup final at Carrow Road.

The ground holds up to 3000 fans, a record figure which they reached when they played a friendly against Norwich City.

Dereham currently play in the Northern Premier League Midlands division and are the furthest travelled team in the division travelling round the country from Norfolk.

One to watch will be Hilliard, who has scored three goals in six matches so far this season.
Sutton are in 12th place on 36 points, 10 points clear of the relegation places where as Dereham are in the danger zone in 17th with 26 points.

Dereham have a lot to play for and so won’t be a pushover that’s for sure. Sutton have already lost to them this season 3-2 away.

Dereham have only won once in their nine games, so will be low on confidence. Sutton have been playing well in recent weeks, so on paper they should win. But as we all know; nothing is guaranteed in this league.
