This Saturday Sutton have another home game, this time against high flying Stamford who will be looking to cement their number one spot. Sutton have little pressure on them now, as they are more or less safe in the league.
Stamford was established in 1896 and spent a single season in the East Midlands League. After several years without league football, the club joined the Northamptonshire League in 1909, and won the title in 1911–12.
They play at the Zeeco Stadium which holds 2000 supporters, of which 250 are seated.
Stamford play in a home kit of red shirt with a white trim, red shorts and red socks. Their away kit is a yellow shirt with black trim, black shorts and yellow socks.
Sutton, with four wins out of the last five, go into this game feeling confident. But, to get anything out of the game, they will have to knock down a very formidable opponent in Stamford. Along with Sutton, they are one of the best teams in the division on current form.
Sutton are in twelfth place with 39 points
where as Stamford are in first with 69 points, and the gap between the two teams is there for all to see. Stamford have only lost 4 games all season, and one of those games was against the Royals 3-0 which was one of Suttons best games this season.
So, this won’t be easy for the lads to take all the points, but belief is strong and with this bunch of lads, the Royals have nothing to fear.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS
