It’s been a fantastic week for Sutton having won at home last Saturday in the league, and then beating Halesowen Town on bank holiday Monday. This Saturday, the Royals are to take on Shepshed Dynamo hoping to extend their superb current form.
Shepshed are currently in 11th spot having had 14 wins so far this season, they have not won in their last 4 games. Sutton however, sit in 12th place on 47 points with 15 wins so far and have had two great results in the last week.
Shepshed Dynamo are based in the small town of Shepshed in Leicestershire. They were founded in 1994 after reforming under this new name due to financial difficulties; their previous name was Shepshed Charterhouse. They are nicknamed The Dynamo and play at the Dovecote stadium.
They play in black and white striped shirts at home and yellow away, Martin O’Neill used to manage them back in the late 80s before he moved to Leicester City.
The last time Sutton played Shepshed was at The Dovecote earlier in the season losing that game 3-0. While a draw wouldn’t be a bad result, it would certainly feel like 2 points dropped for Sutton who are flying high at present.
Looking at these two sides head-to-head over the last 6 meetings, there have been two draws, one loss and three wins for Sutton, so our record is pretty good against Shepshed.
Hopefully it will continue this Saturday.
Let’s get behind the team, and hope Sutton can get enough points to get them into the top half of the table.
