After a loss on Monday to local rivals Boldmere, Sutton will be keen to get back to winning ways with another home game, this time against Corby Town.
Corby, based in Corby Northamptonshire were formed in 1948. They are nicknamed The Steelmen and play at Steel Park.
Corby were Premier Division Champions in 2008-9 and 2014-15. They previously won back-to-back league titles in the United Counties League 1950-51 and 1951-52 before joining the Midlands League.
Corby have had a good run recently and remain unbeaten in their last three games. They’ve scored 8 goals in those games and currently sit in 10th place on 48 points.
Toby Hillard looks to be the danger man, scoring 10 goals so far this season.
Sutton remain in 8th position on 51 points, winning 4 out of their last 5 games. Hilton remains our leading goal scorer on 11 with Tague not far behind on 10.
Last time these two sides met, Last season, the Royals were on the end of a 5-1 drubbing back at Coles Lane, and a 2-2 draw at Steel Park back in November.
Sutton are a different side now, and have a point to prove after Saturday’s result.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
