It was a great victory last weekend with a performance that nobody saw coming. The lads will be hoping to carry on the winning streak this Saturday against a side that beat us on the opening day of the season. But we were a different side then, and have grown since having new players in the side and becoming a consistent team.
Spalding have been getting mixed results of late and currently lie in ninth place on 24 points. This is an eight-point advantage on the Royals, but as we know the Royals have games in hand and on Spalding, they have five, so in reality we are probably currently playing at the same level.
Spalding are based in Lincolnshire and were formed in 1921, nicknamed the Tulips, they play at the Sir Halley Stewart Field. Recently, their honours include United Counties League Premier Division Champions in season 13-14 and League Cup winners in 94-95.
They will be playing in their blue and white strip so the Royals will be in their away strip of yellow and black.
It will be an interesting game from two evenly match sides and it will be a difficult one to call, but if the Royals play like they did last Saturday, they will be unbeatable.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
