This Tuesday evening, we head off to Stamford in Lincolnshire for our first meeting of the season with The Daniels.
The club was established in 1896 and spent a single season in the East Midlands League. After several years without league football, the club joined the Northamptonshire League in 1909, and won the title in 1911–12.
Stamford play at the Zeeco Stadium which holds 2000 supporters, of which 250 are seated.
Stamford play in a home kit of red shirt with a white trim, red shorts and red socks. Their away kit is a yellow shirt with black trim, black shorts and yellow socks.
Sutton, with six wins on the bounce, go into this game needing just one point to join the play-off elite. But to do that they will have to knock down a very formidable opponent in Stamford, as along with Sutton, they are one of the best teams in the division on current form.
Sutton are in sixth place with 44 points where as Stamford are in second with 64 points so the gap between the two teams is there for all to see.
So this won’t be easy for the lads to take all the points, but belief is strong and with this bunch of lads, the Royals have nothing to fear.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
