Tonight Sutton are on the road to meet Belper for the second time this season, but his time in the League. Sutton lost away to Belper last season 1-0, and also lost again earlier this season by 1-0 in the FA Cup at Coles Lane. Both games were very close encounters and could have gone either way.
Belper have started the season well in the League beating Market Drayton, Frickley, and Glossop, and currently sit in top spot, so it will certainly be a tough game for Sutton.
On a positive note, Sutton’s performances have been improving game by game, and we have produced a couple of home draws including the great result against Leek Town at the weekend.
Belper Town are based in Derbyshire and play at the Christchurch Meadow. The team are nicknamed the Nailers from the Towns history with nail making. The club were formed in 1883 and play in yellow and black at home.
Recent accolades include Northern Premier League Presidents Cup winners 2009-10, and the Derbyshire Senior cup winners in 2007-08.
Last time we met Belper Town prior to this year was in the 13-14 season where we produced a 2-2 draw, so to go one better this time would be a great result for the Royals.
Kick-off is 7.45, hope to see as many of you there as possible and lets get behind the lads and cheer them on to victory.
Come on you Royals.
