Sutton will meet Spalding Utd this Saturday at Coles Lane in their 7th league game of the season.
Spalding are on a good run at the moment having already beaten Loughborough Dynamo, Corby, Histon, Stamford and have won their first two FA cup matches. Spalding sit in fifth place in the League, seven places above Sutton, so a very tough game will be expected.
Spalding are based in Lincolnshire and were formed in 1921. They are nicknamed the Tulips and play at the Sir Halley Stewart Field. Their honours include United Counties League Premier Division Champions in season 13-14, and League Cup winners in 94-95.
Spalding will be playing in their yellow and blue strip, so the Royals will be in their royal blue strip (hopefully).
Players on the opposition side to watch out for will be Broccoli, Assombalonga and new signing Maddison, all who have made an impact going forward this season. Maddison was a professional footballer who played for Peterborough, Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers before signing for Spalding.
Sir Alex Ferguson was watching Spalding the other day, so who knows who might turn up on Saturday to see the Tulips take on the Royals.
The last time these two sides met was away and it turned out to be a very bad result for Sutton. They came away with a 3-0 drubbing, and Sutton never had the chance to make amends as the return fixture was cancelled due to covid.
Will they be able to turn things round this Saturday?
Come down to Coles Lane and find out.
Here’s to an entertaining and successful game.
COME ON YOU ROYALS.
