It was a tough game last Saturday, with a semi-collapse in the last 30 minutes of the game, and it was a game we really should have won being the better side on the day. A home game against Loughborough will give the lads an opportunity to put that result well and truly behind them.
Sutton will play Loughborough Dynamo for the second time this season having drew the away fixture 3-3 back in August.
This time we have a new manager, and new personnel, so it will be a different prospect awaiting the Moes.
We welcome two new signings from Hednesford Town, Full back Josh Webb and defender Calum Mendez-Jones. We wish them both well and hope they get off to a winning start with the Royals.
Loughborough lie in 11th position on 23 points after 18 games, whereas Sutton sit in a worrying 16th position with 12 points and only one win in their last eight league games. Loughborough have also hit poor form more recently, with only one win in their last nine.
Loughborough Dynamo are based in Leicestershire and play at the Nanpantan Sports Ground. They are nicknamed the Moes and were founded in 1955.
The club was established by pupils from Loughborough Grammar school who were rebelling against the school’s rugby only policy and secretly formed a football team.
The Moes took their name from Dynamo Moscow who had recently visited England to play Wolverhampton Wanderers, and they play in a gold and black home strip (taken from Wolverhampton Wanderers), and a green and white away strip.
Sutton will need to make home advantage pay with both teams having a poor run at present. The victors of this game could give themselves the impetus to start a run of good results, and with The Royals sitting where they are in the table, it needs to be them.
Please come and support the lads they need you now.
Lots of goodies in the club shop to purchase for a loved one this Christmas, even if you don’t love them, there is something for them, I’m sure.
Come on you Royals.
